Makes you wonder what this world is coming to, doesn't it? What would he have done with a 4 speed column shift or a semi- automatic? [}] Regarding your other comment, even antique cars have to pass emissions tests every year before they can be licenced here. [xx(] I have just one question. Why?

My mechanic is a grumpy old b******, three months younger than I, and he says it all started in California and nothing that happens in California stays in California.

I, for one, am very much in favor of keeping the air clean for future generations and believe a properly tuned antique should be capable of passing the test. Ergo, thank you, California.

quote:I think I'd have to nominate Leonard for the Forum "Content of the Year" award. Thanks for the posts, the pictures, and the education, Leonard. Much appreciated.

Pictures really do help make the forum more interesting and for visual guys like me, make learning easier. I hope it's not too big of a PITA for the dial up guys.
Thanks Dick, I've never won an award before. I try to make my photos low resolution so they will load easier.

While we are on the subject of antique car inspections, there is a big controversy in Virginia about the illegal use of antique tags, since antiques don't have to be inspected. There are lots of contractors driving old pickup trucks to haul materials to the job, and there is even this motor home running around town with antique tags.

If those bogies aren't factory original it won't get an antique plate in Pa.
