  • Barn Find 1916 Studebaker Tourer

I came across what the owner says is a circa 1916 Studebaker Tourer while looking for parts for my '31 Chevrolet Coach. The big old Studebaker appears to have a good engine and running gear including those massive wooden spoked wheels and tires. Body and frame are severely rusted out. Original Roof bows were hanging on a wall. Not sure if eccentric owner would sell as he is 91 years old, and has a collection of early 20's rusty relics (mostly Fords) in this outbuilding. Could get his contact info if someone was interested.

IIRC the entire 1916 production was recalled, to replace the differentials.
See, we were way ahead of the other makes on that one, too.

I think I have 3 or 4 I took but not digital, so loading them to this site may be difficult. Will see if I can find them. I recall seeing the Studebaker Badge on the radiator and thinking what good shape it was in considering the condition of rest of car. Will root through my files and see what I can find. May have to go out and see the old-timer again.
