    It has always been a dream of mine to go to the Salt Flats when the competition is going on.Does anyone know when (dates) this takes place? is it only once a year ?.How close can You get and is there a fee to watch ?........I think it would be so [8D]

    Mine too.

    Speedweek (the big one) is generally mid August

    Entry passes onto the salt are $10/day or $40/week. You can purchase them at the entrance to the salt.

    World of Speed is mid September...

    Admission is $10.00 per day including Pit access, or $30.00 for the entire event including Pit Pass

    (BTW, this is sorta kinda on topic since the Burklands are also famous for their A/BFCC '53 Stude and still hold the record at 255.863 MPH)

            they are starting around Aug 10th thru Aug 17th ...
            rooms are tough to get -- Wendover is usally booked out

            This year I wiggled my way onto "One Six Pack To Go" team running a chopped 1946 Chevy Aero sedan powered by a GMC inliner driven by Jeremy Cope of Auburn CA .. I will keep you posted when I get more info next week

            the car will be on display at the Sacramneto Autorama Feb. 16th thru Feb. 18th
