    were is the engine # on a 56 Packard V8? how can you tell if its a 352 or a 374?

    Bear in mind that Packard also had a 320 V-8. Is the engine still in a car? If so, give us the model and we can tell you.

        Here's a list of engine serial numbers and displacement...

        The Vehicle Identification Number was found on a plate attached to the left front door post. Engine serial numbers were located on a boss at the upper left-hand side of the cylinder block. VIN began with the Body/Style Number suffixed by the engine serial number.

          Well Jack its a 352 casting #'s (looks like on the top back of the block just behind the dist.) reads 440275 A

          Its complete fan to bell, air cleaner to pan, $50.00.

          I'm gonna buy it.
