ISTR from a long time ago that the 55 pickup had a fitting problem which is why the hood wouldn't close (without a lot of work?) A 56-57 sedan front clip would likely work better, but I bet it wouldn't look as good as that 55. Might be fun to see a 58 Stude clip just for the even stranger juxtaposition of the quad-pods on a pickup.

For the record-- one look at the tail lights says it's a '58...

Not my worst photochop ever, but pretty close too. What can I say? I'm rusty.

How about making a bed from a 55 wagon, that would tie the nose in and it even comes with a tailgate

Keoni, I had to go outside and check to see if my car was still on the trailer. I thought you had come by the house and taken the front clip off it for that Champ Truck. Good work on the cut n paste. It looks a bit like an old Nissan pickup from the late 50s.

Now that is what I call a clone!

I'm voting for it for the next CARS movie!

Thanks, Sal. And thanks for posting the new wagon's pics. Your timing was perfect.

Roger that on the Nissan/Datsun 1200 pickups. They were all over Honolulu when I was a kid. This photochop turned out to be a hat tip to the one we used to take to the butcher's to pick up pigs to roast for luaus: it was just about the same color and not in much better condition [8D]

(edit: P.S.) Then again, the '58/'55 wagon that started this thread kind of creeps me out because it looks like a '55 Chevy to me [:0]

This seems for fitting than the Hawk clip. I think I would even drive this.

Well, I like the 55 a bit better than the 56, but each has their place in my heart. Now, not the biggest fan of the Hawk nose unless the bed was more like an El Camino/Ranchero, (longer/lower) in keeping with feel of the coupes vers sedans. You know, the 56 might have been a good competitor with two-toning etc to a Cameo.

I never even thought about a different front end on a champ, neat idea!
The 58 Stude Clip would be neat, or maybe a 57-58 Clipper.[:0]
