Cool and in color too no problem in making out what color there is. What was story behind the two different colors on the full size trucks?

Looks like as many military vehicles as civilian cars. Also looks like they leaked oil when new by the oil spots.
Also 2 lonely Hawks and 1 Convertible. The red car on the left looks to be an R car, hard to tell but that fender emblem shows up better than any other car there.
Was there a date on the picture?
Wonder if that 60 in front was new?

Two things tell me that it is South Bend - the trucks and the 1964 Hawk.

I'm guessing that it's a storage lot out near Plant 8 maybe? It's several miles between the main plant in downtown S.B. and Plant 8, where the big trucks were built.

That picture must be in September or Oct. '63, since the weather looks pleasant! We all know car production stopped there in Dec.

Boy, if that photographer only knew of the two very-major events about to happen in the next month or two.

It looks like a good number of the cars don't have a price sticker (Monroney label) on the rear quarter window. I wonder what's up with that?

Richard, can you tell us any of the serial nos. of these cars? (LOL)

The first question in my mind was what branch of the service used red-orange vehicles??? Army/Marines - Green, Navy - Gray, Air Force - Blue - so who got these red things???

I would concur, I suspect many were destined to receive tanks. I am only basing that on similar vehicles I have seen listed for sale on e-Bay.
