  • Life before Chicken Hawk 1986

I took these pictures at the International Meet at Indy in 1986. This is the Chicken Hawk before the lettering or turbos. Still a street driven car at that time. I'm sure Ted can enlighten us on the details. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Dusty

Dusty, do you remember the six hour trip around St. Louis on the return trip from Indianapolis when Jr's '53 vapor locked every few miles until you told him to floor board the throttle and I didn't catch him until Rolla, MO

The first time I ever saw the chicken hawk was at the Sringfield International in 1991. It had twin Paxtons at that time.

Yes, we do remember it well. I (Wanda) was driving Howard's Lark and it was so hot that day. Rush hour traffic is wonderful in St. Louis when you are sitting beside the hiway. We found out a lot of things that do not work, clothespins, wet rags on the fuel line, new fuel pumps. Just put a lot of gas through it cured the problem. Jim had a quick trip to Rolla. Dusty
