  • What's a Watson Stabilator?

Apparently the 1927 or 1928 Studebaker President came with this equipment. It also boasted a "smoking set" and "toggle grips". Is a Watson Stabilator a shock absorber?

Well, it is part of a suspension system. Google helped me figure that out. Here's a picture. You can still get parts for these, apparently.

I'm guessing part of it is the arm with the spring on it, but you know as much as I do!
