  • Part number needed

Have the body over at the paint shop. They went to put the rear fenders on an I am missing the clips that go on the rear fenders. These clips I think were called speed nuts. They go around the rear fenders and the bolts go through the body into these clips to hold the rear fender to the body. These clips look to be all the same size for each hole on both sides. I need 30 of these clips/nuts. Studebaker Int'l does not have them. Do you know of any vendors that have them?

Car needed for is 63 Lark Custom 2 door Sedan

    Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

If I remember correctly they are just common J- nuts that can be had at places like ACE hardware in their little drawer assortments. You need a sample or know the sheet metal screw size.

Also don't sell your local FLAPS like NAPA or Carquest short. If you ask a lot of them have drawers of Dorman parts under the counter.

There may be something that matches your needs. I'm lucky that I know an old Carquest store manager that knows everthing in his store. You'll be suprised what they have squirreled away for your needs.

          Good luck

My pleasure. Good luck. No promises, but he often has things I have never found elsewhere.

You might try a local auto body supply store.

I bought some from Jon Myers not too long ago. I think he probably is in York now but should be back early in the week. His number is 740-6744897.

                            If the bolts are 5/16" x 10 the nut is P/N 1578X27
