  • Studebakers at Good Guys in Phoenix

Went to Good Guys show in Phoenix Friday the 19th and there were 14 cars and trucks there. No pics since I forgot my camera. Hopefully, Denny Lockmon took some and can post.
Most interesting were two Studebakers in swap meet. One was a 49 Landcruiser (said original) for 3500. It did have rust so I did not look closely.

Second vehicle was a 57 Provincial wagon that was sold and kept in Phoenix area its whole life. Engine sounded great, it has power steering, power brakes and windshield washers. There were no major dents etc and this was one of the most rust free cars I have seen. Dash in good shape and rear seat ok.

Needs a near total interior, paint, grille and front and some side glass. Still those who love wagons, this is as rust free as you get. It had 75,000 miles and clear title. I have the owner's name and phone number. He wanted 6500 but one could always talk to him.
He is not a Stude guy, was trading for older trucks.

of course I missed a word. There were 14 Studebakers there out of 2040 on Friday. I wrote it too early.

No. John & Tracy were not there. I counted 21 Studebakers on Saturday not counting the two in the swap meet Saw two different ones yesterday. I saw windown stickers up to 2300 but someone said it was up to 2800. Great show and even better weather. The wagon at the swap meet would definitly make a car. Just a bunch of work and money.

The 63 convertible has a Granatelli connection. Owner calls it an R3 but it is more R2. The red 64 is mine. R1 Package car.

I also like your '64 Denny, its just that I have an extremely rusted out '63 black Daytona convertible with red interior with a 4 speed. Its only a 259 engine, but its my dream car...but nearly beyond repair.

I wish I could see your whole car, Denny. Maybe in the end of May? [8D] Real package convertibles should be sign free. <G>
