  • NC Champ on ebay

Does anyone in NC know this truck. It has A/C but has vapor lock issues when temp. is hot outside. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tab%3DWatching

That is an older intake setup on that Champ....

Not only is it older, it's for a 232, probably could restrict flow from carb to cylinders.

Would this cause vapor lock when A/C is in use?

I want this pickup! It looks like it might be a good deal for someone (someone with money that is).

Which Bob?? There are so many around here. [:0][]
IMHO, the more modern manifold would help.

Rob, From what I can see, IMO it looks like a nicely kept truck in good shape - there are some advantages in the 8E series over earlier models (better steering & brakes), but I have heard that the swing pedals are a weak spot (but can be corrected) - I have never owned an 8E Champ, so I do not have first hand experience. The oil filler caps also appear (like the intake manifold) to be from an earlier/different model engine. Probably no big deal and easy to change.

Given what JDP just got for his Champ, this one should fetch around $8500-$9000 I would think.

Robert, not sure how much weight my opinion holds.but I bought a 63 Champ similar to that one(except a longbed)V8, AC, "truck AT" 3 years ago for $7,500.00.it seems to me like it might be a nice truck for the $$$. I'm curious do you know what tranny it has?

From the description and photos, looks like your typical late model Stude FOM.
