  • Stainless Restoration

Many of you know that while I was in Cedar Rapids for the National meet, Lark Parker (AKA Dale McPhearson) spent some time with me, teaching me the tricks and secrets of Stainless Trim Restoration.

While I've done a few pieces for myself and a couple forum members, today I finished my first piece for a paying customer.

It's the center grille strip for a M5 pickup. And it took me roughly 6 hours to do.

NICE job Matthew! After doing the trim on my brothers Avanti, which turned out ok, I appreciate the effort anyone puts into it. You may have a paying hobby in your hands.B.V.

          Wow,
Mathew that is a nice job.
I have a pair of gravel guards for a 52 that one is fairly good and the other is dinged up, If you want them they are yours for shipping.
I bought a really nice pair from Dale and no longer need the old ones.
I'll look through my box of parts and see if there is anything else if you want.

          Dean.

              Thanks everyone.

              Dean, I emailed you.

Brent, I was wondering who would notice that. Dale had a bottle of the stuff so I thought it couldn't hurt to do the same. You have no idea how difficult it is to locate genuine Catfish saliva.

Thanks, Matthew. You have made it worthwhile.

That amount of time for that job is about right as those are very demanding pieces to do.

I would trust you with any job.

It wouldn't seem right if I didn't reveal one last tip:
Flip the pieces upside down before you ship them to
                the Australian car owners.

                    Thank you Dale.

Does only the trim have to be flipped upside down, or the trim and the box it's packaged in?

I'm not sure. Maybe you had better not ship to Australia until we check it out. Ask Bob Peterson. I think he has shipped some cars there.

                              Dale,
your sense of humor is the best, I'll never forget when discussing different products for polishing a car one was made of at least some part orange extract.
Dale came back with admitting to using that product and said that:
People that lick my car say that it tastes like Orange.
Just cracked me up. Hope all's well for you.

                              Dean.
