I found the Studebakers (no small task I might add) and snapped a few photos. Stored at: http://tinyurl.com/yq7ame (Note: as I write this, Photobucket is doing some site maintenance so it may not let you see the album. If not you'll have to check back later.)

That 47 M-series is one fine truck and should bring decent money (tomorrow maybe). It is not restored to original (my uneducated observation) as the nice upolstery fabric looks more mofern to me. And, the stainless steel bed floor is a nice touch. Sweet, sweet truck.

The 51 Starlight was also very nice, though there were a few nicks and such (hey, the owner probably drove it!). Looked very original.

The Golden Hawk was a nice resoratation though I must admit I've seen any number of Hawks at an International that had better fit and finish, IMHO. I'd have a hard time bidding 51,000 for it even if I had that kind of money.

The deal of the week in my opinion is the 59 Lark wagon. Barrett-Jackson did not do the seller any favors by listing this car as a 6 cylinder instead of the retrofitted Stude V/8 it is. Had it been properly listed I'd bet it would have drawn more interest. Actually, of the four Studebakers, I thought the Lark wagon was the best of the bunch. The fit and finish was really nice both inside and out. If it runs as good as it looks it was a bargain at $9,900.

Speaking of the Lark, I met its new owner. His name is Chris and he hails from Vancouver. Funny thing... the car and seller are from Seattle! Of course, I invited him to join the SDC and come visit you guys on the forum. I know y'all will give him the usual warm welcome when he visits.

This place is crazy. There are hundreds of vender booths, swarms of visitors, the cars and trucks and, of course, food and ice cold refreshments. I can speak highly for the smoked brats (yes, I meant brat(s) plural!).

Unless you are up front in the bidders area, it's pretty hard to see the "action" up on the block. Watching on TV is better.

I'll check in again... someone's waiting to get online.

$56,00 was the cost on the GH after buyer premium. It was a nice car but like Bob said I have seen better ones at SDC Internationals. The truck should be coming up yet tonight on TV. 41Frank and I will be at the Silver Auction tomorrow. The cars there are a bit more realistic.
