  • Mapquest and Studebaker Tree sign

Looks like Maquest and the satelites have been busy updating photo's and improving imagery. It had been a couple years since my own address had been updated. I digress,

Looks like the trees at the Test track are crowding the "S" and "T" and the "R".......approaching unreconizable.

They should cut some of the trees to keep the name seen from the air!

Cool picture! I'll bring my Jonsered with the next time I go to Indiana. I'll make quick work of cutting down those invasive sign cluttering trees! Anybody out there need some firewood? Seriously though, if thats a city or county park, then I guess its up to the local government to take care of it. I bet one day of work would take care of it.
Anyway, whats the address of the sign and test track? I would like to look it up and have a fresh picture of the entire track and sign together.

Seems like I remember reading that the letters had been cleaned up a few months back. Must be an older picture.

I once parked my champ truck in the letter "U" and took a picture. Its a real neat place back in those trees.

Go to this address in google maps, move the test track oval up some to center it, and start zooming in!

That ZOOM gets down to the nitty gritty drit. Lot of barren trees around at time of that picture.

All this started by me looking for the new SI location, Got bored [|)] and started thinking of driving on the proving grounds track.[^]

              Edit
Ah....that street view is a bit scary....

I think Paul was referring to the prototype Studes...

Yep, you really can see 'em.

Either way Matt, lots to see

2nd Edit, can we get a pinpoint where (Palma???) sneaked in and viewed the cars go around the track, as a young boy? If I remember the story right.
