Does a r3 carb box fit under a 53 c/k hood?

Does a r3 carb box fit under a 53 c/k hood? (on a stude v8)

Just wondering if this has been done?

Yes it has been done. I believe you would need to use the Avanti "short" motor mounts.

And I'm pretty sure Bob Petersons chopped coupe has an R3 box.

I've seen other examples over the years, so it's definitely possible.

The problem is getting the blower mounted low enough to clear the hood. Here's Scott Hall's Speedster (with a '53 front clip). R2 carb hat...



The right inner fender is modified just a little.

I did this to my 54 coupe years ago.The box fits fine and the sidemount blower has to be recessed into the inner fender by dimpling
the area.Steve
