  • Grace gets her Senior award

    Hello everyone,

I took Grace, our '54 Commander Starliner, to Hershey yesterday. Met up with Leonard Shepherd and Don Jones, both of whom took photos of her.

Last night at the awards banquet, we were awarded our AACA National 1st Senior, and I was as nervous as I was last year awaiting the announcement of her 1st Junior.

We may come in second in the Texaco Car of the Decades contest, but at least the AACA judges know a classy car (as opposed to a '53 Dirge pick-up rod) when they see one.

    Kindest regards,

    Alan Mende

My brother called me yesterday and said "guess where I am? I'm at Hershey" Then he snickered and told me about the beautiful 54 Studebaker he was looking at. I take it that he was probably looking at Grace.. Congrats on the senior award.

Pictures of most all Studebakers found on the Hershey Show field will be posted tomorrow. There were many nice cars there including Alan's. Some people worry alot but whebn the car is as nice as GRACE is AACA"s Senior Award is a shoe in. Congrats to you Alan and as I said yesteray on the field it was a "No Brainer" to the judges.

                    Alan

It's a win/win when a deserving Studebaker receives an award like this.

It's a great looking car and deserves the award.[]

                    Well done,

                    Bob
