  • What year is this Daytona?

I am thinking 66' didn't the 66' come with vented tail lamps? I am inquiring about this car but the owner isn't sure what year it is. Grandma past on in 01' and she wants to move it. Downside is this is the only pic, and she has no idea on rust issues, engine, or trans, and the price is high[B)]. She is gonna call me back with more specifics, so we'll find out and then maybe see what happens from there, maybe she'll soften up on the price.

Yep, a '66 Daytona...not terribly common even when new, and less so now. That's been a neat car, and maybe it still is! What's the location (generally speaking)?

The "vented taillights" are the air exits for the "Refreshaire" system mentioned above, unique to the '66.

Got a question (gee, what a surprise! lol). If you look really close, it looks like a second door handle, like it is a 4 door sedan, wich it isn't. What would that be? A side mounted mirror?

Its a late 66. Early 66's had painted bezels on the tail lamps, but around January I believe they were made with chrome bezels. Another late change was the wide sill plates.

Some people dont like 65-66s, but i find them quite interesting. With the changes in late 66 it shows Studebaker was still trying to produce a fine car right up to the end. Great score if you can get it.
                    Crosley's motto was " A fine car"

The 66's keep coming out of the woodwork! I really look forward to seeing this one when it's pulled from the garage.

Rust and interior condition are big items as far as value on this fairly rare and desireable car. Do you mind stating what the high price is and what state or country this '66 Daytona Sport Sedan is in?

I think you're seeing something on the garage wall, ahead of the car. LH

The high price is $3000.00 it is in NH I she said there is a local man coming to look at it tomarrow, so we'll see how that pans out. It has been in that garage since 1980. The milage is 26,456 the vin is CI33521 and the body tag is S-F8-7466 and its a 2 spd auto. I really want a shot at this car but i feel the local looker will snake it or steal it. I will keep my fingers crossed, more pics coming soon
