  • Dog Dish Hubcaps????(TW March 2008)

On page 39 of March 2008 , the hawk has dog dish hub caps, what year , what model did they belong to? Would they fit 15" rims of a 1955 president? Many thanks

Small "Hub Caps" were standard on all years of Studebakers, excepting very few, like Avanti and '55 Speedster that come to mind, where a Wheel Cover was Standard instead.

Check the TW issue that explains and shows all of them, some like '53-'55, have ranges of years they fit, others are one year only.

If the ones that you are referring to fit original Hawk rims, I do not believe that they will fit original 1955 rims. This is due to the different method of attaching the small hub caps to early postwar and late postwar Studebaker rims. Of course, if you realy want them, you can change your rims.

I just took a look at the picture you referenced. Those are '64-'66 caps.
The wheels you would need are the later style that Studebaker used from '59 to '66.
