Biggs, Dick Lindsey is on his way out to Bob Peterson's next week from Ohio. He has bumpers ready to go. If you are interested, I can give you his number. He will take yours as cores, too, if he has room.

    As seen in Cedar Rapids:

    George,

Blue's trim really suffered for all her years of neglect. Happily tho, SASCO had all but ONE piece in stock. Studebakers West had that one piece. So only $600+ bucks later, Blue has all new baubles on her sides. In fact, the stuff on her front and rear is mostly NOS too.[:0] I'm gonna have to have her bumpers rechromed for her to feel like a total star tho.[:X]

That look great, Bob! After having mine - similar Daytona trim - off (and on again) - I don't know how ANY has survived to be in the perfect condition your is in. That aluminum is SO soft - it bends and dents so easily. On a car or in storage for years, I would think every piece would have some battle scars.

She sure does look good wearing that jewelry, Bob. I'm jealous, and I wish she was mine. Hmm... I wonder if I could talk my gal into wearing Cruiser trim on her quarter panels? 'Course this is all just wishful thinking, as I can't even afford any cheap screws!

Luckily my wife just sat down, asked "What New?", I'm better now.

started a topic Gals love jewelry!

    Gals love jewelry!

I started the arduous task of cleaning all the buffing and polishing compound out of the door jambs and anyplace else the stuff found it's way into. It's tedious work, but we'll be happier for it when it's done.

At one point tho, Blue started to ask if I thought her NOS baubles were gonna flatter her when all was said and done. I assured her she'd be the belle of the Ball, but she was persistant with the hints that we try a piece on just for inspiration. I finally broke down and got out the left rear quarter mouldings - the one's that tell everyone she's a Cruiser. She loves the gold script, by the way.[:X]

Took a bit to find the new clips I'd bought - as well as the stainless steel screws I bought her to replace the original steel screws that left ugly age spots. Besides, with what her sugar daddy laid out for this latest facelift, who wants cheap screws???[:0]
