Tonight at dinner my mother remebered a friend of our family back in the 40's and 50's.
This fellow owned part interest in a steamship company and as a kid whenever the any of the ships were in NY to take passengers rather than bananas he would throw a party onboard the ships. As a kid I rememeber being allowed to pull the cord that sounded the steam whistle. Just now I googled "the Panama Line" and look what showed up
