  • My 63 Champ

Just wanted to post a few pics of my Champ, I have recently finished. Took a while and a few other hands but for the most part she is finished. Any questions or comments just let me know. Thanks all

Very nice, I can see you put a lot of work into "him"... [^][8D]
How did you get car hubcaps to fit on truck wheels[?]

Looks like a very nice mild Custom Jeremy, Mark's question is probably going to be the most asked question when people see it for the first time. Normally those '59 Lark Caps would be too small to fit a truck Wheel, so you must have special clips or mounting holes or something. [:0]

Is this an 8E5 6 Cyl. or an 8E7 V-8?

A couple of very long small screws, I have hid them well then painted so they are not really noticeable. I know not the best job on the caps, but I dont have 400.00 for original ones. Maybe someday, but until then these have done the job. Got them off ebay for 20.00. Thanks

studerich- Yeah it is my first project ever so I think it turned out pretty good. It is a 8E5 V6. We found it in an old barn in Loogootee IN and so we bought it off the owner for a 500.00. It had been there for 20 years and never touched. It is a farm truck so it maxes out at 45. I dont mind as I only cruise around and take it to local shows here in Columbus Ohio.

                I think you mean a in-line Six, it would be a 170 c.i. Overhead Valve 6.

To get her up to 60-65 you just need a working Overdrive, it would save a lot of engine wear, fuel and lower the noise level.

Most 3 speeds were equipped with the Overdrive, but of course like everything on a Truck, it was an Option. Just like that nice factory rear bumper and a spare tire!

In-line 6 is correct my bad. So would it be possible to install OD onto my truck? If so, would it be a very difcult process and do would you know about how much something like that would run, or even if its available. Thanks for the great info.

Pretty cool! I like your personal custom approach as to the interior. Looks like you have a rare original rear bumper too![:0]

The Trans. is just like yours with a different tail housing on it, no harder than R&R'ing a Trans. the hardest part is gathering all the Carb. linkage, O.D. Cable, wire harness, driveshaft etc. but not actually hard to install.
