  • Flowers for Lionel & Elaine Stone

Hello I have decided to send flowers to Lionel in Ok. I am also going to put some flowers or a wreath on the Lionel Stone venders table. Many others have already offered to donate some money to help me fund this effort. Any help will be greatly appreciated. If more money is sent that spent it will be delt with when I return from CeRap. We can collectivly decide what to do with it at that point.

This will be done in the name of SDC Forum Members & STT Forum Members

Please send what you can to:

    John Batka
    1806 South Center Street
    Grove City, PA 16127

That is my store address there will be someone their while i'm gone nothing should get missplaced there.

    Thanks

Maybe any overage could buy a nice arrangement for Mrs. Stone's services.

Do you have a PayPal account, John? More might be tempted if it was just a couple of mouse clicks.

Good idea Dick. I do not plan on making a shrine but I think an assortment of around $100.00 would not be out of line.

        Thanks for any help

you will need to copy my email for the transaction

My condolences to Lional and his family. I have never met him but talked to him on the phone many times.

John--I will put a check in the mail tomorrow morning. I suspect (hope) you will get much more in contributions than the flowers will cost. If so, please pass my small contribution on to the Stone family for whatever they need.

Great idea Dick! You have our two cents John, and thank you for stepping forward on this! By the by, the donation will be in the name of roverhud which is George's account. It's from both of us though, studeclunker and roverhud. Ditto, by the way what Jeff said.

Same here, John. And thank you for doing the legwork on this. Many times we want to do something like this but don't have a man on the ground.

I've been in the yard and garage all day & night prepping for the trip. I was going to do something from the Ohio Region just like this when I got there, so thanks for the plan and excellent effort, John. Money sent to your Paypal account.

Thank you dear friends of my parents. I have posted in the 'Sad News' thread most of the details. You thoughts and prayers are welcomed and warming to the hearts of myself and my two sisters, as well as my Mom's brother.

My mother loved flowers and had the perverbial 'green thumb'. We also will be accepting donations in her name toward the Congregation Beth Israel, New Synagogue Fund. I have decided to plan a garden type memorial to honor my mother. She would have loved it. If you would like to donate to that fund, the address is:
Congregation Beth Israel, 2200 Broadway, Bellingham, Washington 98225. Please make a note 'in memory of Elaine Stone'.

Thank you all again and I will keep up posts as I know more about Lionel and the funeral for my mom.

Addendum to my earlier post: in thinking about my Dad room at the hospital, there really is no room at all for flowers. Cards would be great: UO Medical Center, Presbyterian Tower, 700 N.E. 13th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104

Thank you all for your well wishes and thoughts. It means so much to us. I did post a note about donations in honor of my mother on another thread if you wish to seek it out.

A note about my wonderful mother, Elaine Stone...
My mom's funeral will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, July 21st,
                          Groman Eden Mortuary
                          11500 Sepulveda Blvd
                          Mission Hills, CA 91345-1132
                          (818) 365-7151

You will be directed to the chapel and then there will be a graveside service. Anyone who wishes is welcome to come afterward to my sister Pattie's home to visit with the family. Information will be handed out at the service.

Thank you all for your love, prayers and comments. We all loved our Mother dearly, but only knew her as our 'Mom'. Hearing the love going out to her as 'Elaine' warms our hearts.

(I will post on all the threads I can find; sorry for the repeating)
