  • My 1st local SDC meet today

I wanted to thank the folks who looked out at the gray sky this morning and drove their cars anyway. It was supposed to be a 50% chance of rain until noon, but at my house it was 100%. It was dry until 5 minutes before the first car arrived, of course, but by about 1pm it turned into an absolutely beautiful day. Here are a few pics:

Lake Louise beach & pavilion area in front of my house.

Local SDC members, including Studeboro and GT Joe, found a cool spot to enjoy the sights.

My daughter found a car she loves.

Lots of good food after I grilled in the light rain. A good lengthy bull session...I'm guessing a few naps happened shortly after everyone got home. Some drove as far away as Columbus, which is over 2 hours away. Most members were over an hour, so thanks for the effort, everyone. [8D]

Bob, Bill was the first car to arrive in the rain and his Lark is a beauty. We talked about his '63 having the original green paint (we joked that all Stude colors were chippewa green, they just changed the name ) with a rose mist interior. He said he's had judges and members assure him Studebaker would never build a car with that combination! I think we know better here..never say never, eh?

Very nice indeed, Dave; it looks like a perfect day! BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

          Ayn Rand:
"You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality."

          G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.

The official name for Bill's color is Seaspray green

Right you are Bob. That and the Kart Hauler's color are of my favs. I like Dick's interior better, though. Makes me want to get in there with muddy feet after I buy it.

Hey Dave, I had a great time, at first I thought it would be a free car wash, but the Stude Gods blessed each and everyone who showed up and I noticed that each car ran a little better after we left with all that left over moisture in the air! Hey I can't wait till next year, this wiil be the PLACE TO BE.

                    What a nice gathering!
Gimme a shout next time and I'll pass it along to Dad - he's always looking for an excuse to fly the Hawk out of Mansfield.

You're on Andy. [8D] You have to come back sometime, too. I know it's like you escaped, but you'll have to find the time to come back for a meet like our new one at Summit Racing replacing Wink's the last Saturday of August every year.

GT Joe, thanks for making it up in the Avanti. You're always welcome. Let me know when you Streetsboro Stude guys go for a cruise. I'd like to get out for an evening putt.

You're still good, Bob. I meant the Ute with those cream carpets. I should have aimed lower and got Dick's Alfa. Loved that car.
