  • Pic Needed - '54 or '55 V8 Sedan

Does anyone have a picture(s) showing where the overdrive relay mounts on the firewall of a '54 or '55 Stude V8 sedan?

Here you go Paul. The relay is just above the steering column opening in the cowl. Car is a 1955 "Ultra Vista" Commander 4 door.

No, that's on tomorrows list.....need to get that done and take the flywheel to O'reillys so they can get it resurfaced on Monday. Got the engine compartment cleaned up today, and got the V8 front frame mounts on. Those engine mounts are a bear to get to the bolts underneath (with the suspension still on).

Thanks Matthew! Guess I'll have to be creative......a lot of differences on where stuff mounts on a V8 versus a 6. Right now my voltage regulator is mounted about where the o/d relay goes on a V8 car. May move the o/d relay to roughly where the coil sits on the '55, since the late V8 I'm using has the coil mounted on the intake.

Thanks Bob. That's a good angle.
