  • New life for an old Studebaker (building, that is)

It seems that Columbia University has kept its word about using and restoring the old Studebaker building in NYC. Good story, history, and photos.

Kind of ironic that one of the potentially largest remnants of the once expansive Studebaker corporation would be a building used for final finish of mostly assembled cars...and in New York of all places! In addition, another University is participating and benefiting from the use and preservation of the facilities. South Bend and Notre Dame should be ashamed.

What struck me when I first looked at those photos is that the tall tower in the middle of the building sports hexagons for decor. Painted red, they'd be Packard logos! Maybe someone had a crystal ball in 1923![:0]

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.
