Gord Richmond stopped by for a few days, so I enlisted his support as a camera man.

The first in car sequence is through all 3 gears, then into OD. The OD shift is so smooth and the engine noise so low that you wouldn't be able to tell unless I mentioned it. Gord did a SWEET job on both the engine and transmission in this car .

I've enjoyed reading and following this build from start to finish. I have to tell you the story of you finding the original owner/builder and him being interviewed at the Rod show is probably tops. But to see and hear it go down the road man it really doesn't get any better than that. Love the click click of the gear selection and noticable STUDE exhaust note.

Dick Steinkamp is my hero!! I loved his 63 GT Hawk.. The Ute is just insanely beautiful[]... and he's not afraid to "get on it"...!! What more can I say, but again, Dick Steinkamp is my hero!

The UTE's 259 sounds just like my Dad's Trans Am with a 455, flowmaster exhaust, roller rockers, but basically stock. The 455 is nearly twice as big![8D]

Dunno. I've got that '63 Lark with a Chevy that I need to finish, then there is a very nice '62 Lark Regal hardtop right behind that that is crying to be back on the road.

I need to sell the Ute before I take on another BIG project. I'm not sure I can ever top the story that goes along with the Ute on ANYTHING...that was pure luck and half the fun of the project.
