seat coil spring

Looking to replace a couple of broken coil springs in my seat bottom. Have any favorite companies to buy from? Also has anybody repaired a broken edge wire? Can it be welded with out losing all of its flex?

"McMaster Carr" may have what you need.
I got cheap curved needles from "Michaels" craft store. LPS #3 HD Rust Inhibitor, on the metal parts, lubricates and won't flake off. I took a lot of pictures as I took the seat cushion apart; and found them useful, later.

What you are you working on? I have a couple NOS seat spring kits.

53K I am working on an M5. I have done the seat back already but have some work on the bottom to get it back to where it needs to be. (especially for my 1/8th of a ton backside, maybe I should use front springs from the front end)

Mike, thanks for the links, I am sure they will be alot of help. I can only hope my seats look half as good as those.

Go ahead and weld the edge wires if you need to. You may want to slip a piece of steel brake tubing over the open ends to help reinforce the broken wires or use a piece of heavy steel wire or rod along side the seat frame wires. A local upholstery shop may be able to help you with replacement spring coils if you need some.
