  • Maiden voyage 63 Lark Now with video

I finally got a few minutes to play with my Lark today. I figured the brake problem out by adjusting the pedal stop. It was not releasing all the way. The car runs and drives well. I'm tickled.
I have a few issues. I'm going to find some Crown Vic wheels, I have a coolant leak somewhere in the dash, gotta get the tailpipes put on, the rear brakes are coming on too soon and figure out some squeaks and rattles.
It ain't as pretty as Dick's but I like it. I even had Elvis playing in the cassette player.
If I can figure the wifes camera out, I'll try and post some video.

    I hope this one works

A lot of wind noise in the video. It was hot.

$20 says the coolant leak is the heater control valve, unless you've already rebuilt it. Neat idea to have a temperature-compensated valve, but I don't think they were intended to last 50 years

Not the control valve. It's coming from higher. like the core is leaking. I can bypass it for the warm weather.
I did get my wife to drive it around the block.[:0] We may be turning a corner here!

I tried to load a video from this fancy camera, but it is not wanting to behave.

Did I hear it chirp the tires shifting into second? Very cool!

Yep, with the little skinny tires on it, it will chirp the tires.
I think I will give the the ultimate test drive today and drive it to work. A 150 mile shakedown drive should be fun.

Doesn't require an inspection sticker (more than 35 years old). I drove it enough over the weekend to fully test the brakes.
I had to get the car on the lift today to install the tail pipes. Someone has done an excellent job underneath. All clean with stainless brake lines and an adjustable proportioning valve. I made it to work with no problems at a steady 65-70 mph. I had to disconnect the tach to get the turn signals working so I have no idea how many rpms I was turning. I got the tach hooked back up and I will find out later tonight.
It will be nice to get some better tires and rims on it. Overall, I'm still pleased.

Well, I go off for the weekend and you begin terrorizing the metropolis of Hope Mills with your Stude. Sounds great and I too liked the chirping tires in second gear. Are you going to take it to Lillington on June 6th?. It will be nice to have more than two Studes caravaning out of our region.
