  • Run of Hawks on eBay

Sure a bunch of Hawks on eBay right now. Two appear to be non-package R-2s (one with a Ford-built engine[V]) and two nice '61s.

I think you misread the part about the Ford engine Paul. It states the engine was built by the same company that built the winning Ford engine in the Pinks challenge. I do fail to see the significance the seller is trying to convey though. Apples and oranges in my opinion.

Paul , looks like a 64 convert in the back ground of the white one and a Avanti in the back ground of the rose one, the green 61 they also had a 63 R-2 up for auction calling it a 62 factory supercharged. all these nice cars coming up for auction is not a good thing I think it telling us people need to get rid of their nice ones to pay bills and that is not good, my friend had his red 63 R-2 4 speed on last week and didn't make reserve and he is selling for that reason...bob

Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving a decent description without having to click a bunch of links just to see what you're talking about.

The white R2 belongs to Forum member Michael Float. I think he bought the car from JDP a couple of years ago.

The car in the background is his '63 6 cylinder Daytona conv.

Bob, have not been checking eBay as often as I once did. When I do, it seems to me that there are an awful lot of nice cars offered, but the bids appear (to me) to be low. A lot of unmet reserves. Anybody else notice this? Any one have any statistical reports to confirm it?

It's not just cars. My parts sales have dropped somewhat. Not the quantity of sales but the prices I am getting are lower. It may be time to slow down on my ebay selling.

I am selling the White R2 in order to concentrate on several projects that I have going. I have a low reserve set on it. It is a nice car and someone will get a deal on it more than likely.
