We've kinda got it covered, Bob, as best we can.

See the last couple posts here:

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Oops, sorry. Just didn't want his post to get missed on the Tech page. I called him, then posted this thread.

I'm not sure what his status currently is. Hopefully he'll read this thred and contact you if needed; or maybe you could call him at the number he listed?

As I posted on the other thread, unless someone closer has him running by 7 or so in the morning, I'm heading up with tools and ignition parts. Should take me about 2.5 hours to get there, so hopefully it will be running before the rain comes a noon.

Jim, it sounds like one of the three or more posts on this, Bob Palma said that a Starter Bendix drive may also be needed, I can't follow which is the latest info, so sorry if it has been handled.

That's my fault, Rich... Charles posted a plea for help on the Tech page, and I was afraid it might not get seen over there very quickly; so I was hoping to get him more help where the most traffic is.

Great to hear, Jim. I'm sure it'll be going in short order. One trick with the starter (which you already may know): When you have one that's kicking out too soon, most of the time you can get it to start like this: when the bendix kicks out, continue holding the key and let it hum for 5-10 seconds, then let it stop. Repeat a few times if needed. Very often that will heat it up enough to get the car started.

Good luck, and good on you!![^]
