  • Reality sets in

Some of you may recall that Asa Hall's low mileage US 6 was recently listed on e-bay with an opening bid of $115K and a BIN of $14K.

I see that it has now been relisted with an opening bid of $13,995 and no reserve. As I recall, this is about $3K above the high bid when I last checked prior to the end of the previous auction.

It did bid to $12k last time. Neither a required opening bid of $115k nor a required opening bid of $14k would have allowed it to bid to $12k...in fact, looks like the bidding started at $500 last time...

Maybe the required opening bid last time of $115k was a typo and he changed it after the auction started?

            Dick,

I think that this may be the third time up for the truck. I actually sent the owner a note asking how he arrived at the $115K opening bid as I knew what he had paid ($10,000) but never received a response. I think it was subsequently relisted and reached the figure that you mentioned. I understand the owner is a big military vehicle collector, but it appears the market has spoken in terms of its value.
