  • Re-Pop Packard T/L Lens

My wife made me go to a swap meet and Home and Garden show yesterday. And saw studedude there. Didn't see any Studebaker parts but did see 1956 Packard Clipper T/L lens and back up light lens. I didn't realize there was a demand for them. I don't see that many street rods with them on.

That has been the lens of choice for 50 years by customizers.
They disappeared from junkyards as fast as they came in.

FYI, all: It's my understanding from people who should know, that the original tooling for those 1956-1958 red lenses was never destroyed.

As a result, Geoff Newman had a run of them made many years ago from the original tooling for Standard Surplus / Avanti Parts / etc, and those are the ones now being sold by SASCO.

So does that make them new-production old stock or ??? BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

                Ayn Rand:
"You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality."

                G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.

You mean like the repro wheel covers for the '54 c/k's that were made from the original molds? I bought a set of 4 from Dennis about 10 years ago for $125 on a Christmas sale. What a great deal!
