        Hey hurricane; The code, 6H-C5, is decyphered as;

        6...code for premium 1955 models
        H...code for the President models
        C...code for a post coupe, usually refered to as the Starlight Coupe
        5...code for the State (high) trim on a President model

        The number 7808233 is the serial (chassis) number, a sequencial number assigned by the factory as the cars came off the assembly line. This car was built in the Los Angeles Studebaker factory. 1955 Presidents were built with the new 259 c.i. V8 as standard equipment. The first serial number of California 6H models was 7805001. This particular car was the 3232th 6H model built in 1955
        (not just the C bodied coupe). What's the story on your acquisition?

        Frank Drumheller
        Louisa, VA
        '60 Lark Regal VI 4 door
        '48 M16-52 Studebaker/Boyer Fire Truck
        lot full of parts cars and trucks

                front pages of parts books, brad.

                Miscreant adrift in
                the BerStuda Triangle

                1957 Transtar 1/2ton
                1960 Larkvertible V8
                1958 Provincial wagon
                1953 Commander coupe

                No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.
