Last Thursday we sold our wonderful Avanti. It is a very difficult thing for me to do as I become attached to my cars. It was nice to find a buyer who wanted an Avanti since he was a kid and had driven many Studebakers but never had the opportunity to buy an Avanti. He started driving in a '63 cruiser and I have one in the yard that I have begun fixing up. He is thrilled to have it and is surprising his father who is a long time Studebaker collector that has never been able to get one. I gave him information on SDC and AOAI and gave him a magazine. Northwest overdrive is this weekend and maybe he will make an appearance. We drove the car to Kansas City and Tacoma for international meets and will treasure those memories with it. I will now have to focus my energy on my 3R6 then on to R3858.

    Rob,
It is always nicer when you have to sell a prized possession if it goes to someone who is excited to get it.
I was at the international meet in Tacoma and am wondering if I have a photo of your Avanti. What color is it? Any other identifying features that would help me cull it out of the herd?

It is a white ‘64 with a ‘63 front and red interior and supercharger emblems with a trailer hitch. I kept the hitch.Click image for larger version

Here is the pic from Bob Johnstone's site, studebaker-info.org. Suitable for framing.

Yes, my wife took that not long after we got it. It also was the December car in the AOAI 2021 Calander. She would come out of the stores to find love notes on the windshield.
