Here are the load capacities at 32 PSI :
    205/70r15 1415
    205/75r15 1455
    215/70r15 1495
    215/75r15 1596
By using your proposed size of 205/70r15 you are losing 320 lbs total capacity (80 x4)over the size I recommended (215/70r15) which will result in lesser performance(poorer road holding, steering control and poorer tire wear) at any given pressures.
There is also a substantial height difference.
If you don't want to install wider wheels for the 215/70r15 size then 205/75r15 would be a better application. However with your original wheels not just being very narrow, they are also pushing 60 years of age, so definitely not recommended for safety reasons.

I am running 215/70r15 on aftermarket 6" rims(same height as 205/75), just a little wider and they fit great, improved handling and drive nicely on my '59 Lark HT.

It is an 8 cylinder, The wheels appear to be stock. If I figure out how to post a photo I would send a picture. The 2.15's fill the wheel wells quite a bit. Does anyone know the diameters of the 2.05 vs. the 2.15 tire? Just remembered to mention that the front fenders have been replaced with fiberglass. Is that known to be a problem?

You only have one size Larger than most are using on Larks, so checking the Wheel Backspace may very well be needed as suggested.

Also collapsed Front springs will contribute to that condition.
Is this a Lark Six or Eight?

Do you have stock or aftermarket wheels? If aftermarket, you need to have the correct offset and backspace

Ditto that-I have 205-75s on my ‘60 Lark and they fit great!

P205/75/R15 have worked on my Avanti. I believe Cooper and some others still have that size.

    '61 Lark tire size

Trying to get my Lark, that I recently got, drivable, The tires rub on the inside of the front fenders when I make sharp turns, left or right. I'm pretty sure it has the wrong size tires on it, they are P215 /75/R15. Would like to know the size of a reasonably priced tire that is readily available and fits,if there is such a thing.
