  • 64 Daytona Convertable

    Hello There,
I've found a 1964 Daytona Convertible For Sale or sort of For Sale! The owner wants to swap a decent '63 4 dr Lark for it.
I've received some photo's of it, it's a complete restoration, but besides the floors, looks fairly solid, a few dings etc., but not too bad.
Has soft top frame etc., no running gear & only back seat, interior trashed. This is a very rare car in Australia, someone in the past has converted it
to RHD, which is also a bonus. The owner is dead set on this swap thing, & I'm finding it difficult to get a price guide out of him.
I'm keen on the project, but I think we are going to be on different pages with the price, although a rare car in Australia, not really
sort after, & from what I just spent on the resto of my '61 Hawk, wouldn't get much change out of 40K.
Anyway, just thought I'd share my dilemma, (Just adding: if anyone has a decent 63 4dr. Lark in Australia, doesn't have to have running gear, For Sale, please PM me.)

    regards, Cus

That's a tough one Cus, over here, a Convertible is worth many times what a 4 Door Lark is, but CONDITION of course, has to be the Same to come up with a fair Price differential cash payout plus the exchange.

It sounds like this Convert. is Rough though, WHO would do a complete restoration with rotted out Floors or allow them to?

This fits the description of a couple of 1964 convertibles in New South Wales so its difficult to provide much advice without more details or photos.

Sorry, i meant to say, it’s in need of a complete restoration, it’s out in a paddock with a plastic tarp over it, so it’s one of those deals that probably won’t get over the line before the car rusts away. I’ll think about making him an offer soon, & see how I go, regards, Cus
