  • The search is over!

I have been looking for a Silver Hawk for some time now, but was unable to find anything close to me, that was in my price range and wasnt a total rust bucket.

Recently, I was contacted by a wonderful gentleman, who offered to sell me a 57 Golden Hawk that he has. Power steering, power brakes, 3-speed with overdrive, and windshield washers. Original motor, tranny, supercharger (rebuilt), etc. Spent all of its life in California until he purchased it several years ago. Even has the original CA title. The car is very solid, and probably 95% original and complete, missing only some trim, and a few odds and ends. Still has the original gray paint in the trunk. Body-wise, it needs front floor pans, a trunk lip, and one rocker panel. That's it.

I drove down to his place yesterday, bought the car, and brought it home. I am in heaven.

The search is over. Now on to the restoration.

I was finally able to get some pics. Here is the car at my friends garage. I also found out it has the TT rear end, and backup lights.

Right on! Nice that the missing bits are in the trunk. That's going to be a real beauty!

Here are the things that are missing, if anyone has extras in nice condition that they want to sell. Most of it is trim. Email me with price and condition. Might not be able to get it all right away, but will keep you in mind if I cant. The fellow that I bought it from offered to help find some of the pieces, so I dont know what he will come up with.

(1). Trim piece at bottom center of hood, right under the grill.
                  (2). Front fender spears.
(3). Trim pieces that go beneath windshield and around to tops of doors. I was told it is called beltline moulding. Missing all 7 pieces.
(4). Passenger interior door panel and top trim piece.
                  (5). Antenna
(6). Rear window regulator assembly - drivers side.
(7). All 4 wheel well mouldings.
                  (8). Backup light lenses.
(9). Lenses for the lights on top of the front fenders.
                  (10). Knob for overdrive lever.
                  (11). Shifter knob.
                  (12). Trunk lock
                  (13). Door locks
(14). Interior trim pieces that go above rear interior panels.
(15). Rod that holds the hood up.
(16). Passenger side windshield wiper arm.
                  (17). Tach
                  (18). Tach sending unit
                  (19). Fuel gauge
                  (20). Oil pressure gauge
(21). Power distribution block on top of fan shroud behind radiator.

Also, many of the pieces need to be rechromed, so if someone could pass along the name of a reputable chroming service (preferabley in or as close to PA as possible to save on shipping), I would really appreciate it.

Tach? Isn't there one on Ebay as we speak?
Wheel opening mouldings are rare. Bob Helm in Royse City Texas has some of them. Stude vendors have some of the other things that you need. Looks cool. Good luck. It is a labor of love.

Tach and glove box door are in bag in trunk. Previous owner cleaned all of the gauges. Tach was the last one, and he didnt get a chance to put it in.

Quite a find! I might have one or two of those stainless interior pieces. I'll try to remember to look.

Former owner contacted me and said he found some parts he forgot to give me, so I am updating my list by graying out the ones I dont need. I added some other things I found out that I need.

I think that it was Jim Turner that recommended Librandi's near York for chrome plating. the junction block on the fan shroud is available repro from SI and probably other vendors.
