  • SBakers at Auction - 1

Last weekend was the 2009 Car Auction in FT. Lauderdale.
Here are some photos I took of some outstanding vehicles of interest to us SDC:

Do you know what the results of the Auction were?

Now that is an odd pair of GT Hawks. One is an "R3-ized" car with a base dash (no clock/tach) and the other is a base-engine car with a full dash! Go figure. BP

By golly, Claude; ya' caught me. (Hey, the post was made before 7 AM and the coffee wasn't even done brewing. I'd like to put in for a Battery-Hold-Down Policing Variance until 7 AM or the first cup of coffee, whichever occurs first.)

Seriously, isn't it amazing how nice a car can be, how beautifully an engine room can be detailed, but owners will subject their car to the possibility of the mess that can be created by an unrestrained battery (if not an outright engine-room fire in a 12-volt C/K Studebaker...especially with posts on the outside and the terminals high on the posts as in the subject car)? [:0]Unbelievable.[:0] BP

If you shop around you'll find that most batteries are taller than the original. It's hard to find the right size case with the correct height. Note also the 62 SHOULD HAVE wide whites and the R3 clone is a partial flow block.
