  • New Sticky for Tech Tips

As we get new Studebaker Owners it appears the overdrive system is mysterious to them. How about we get a new sticky for Tech Tips on Overdrive that we refer people to read then if there are further questions after they read it address them.

    Just a thought.

Should appear in the "Tech Tips" of our SDC web site. Then it would be easy to refer to the link.

showbizkid , Clark, it's the same file NCDave51 attached in the other Overdrive Questions thread from 04/02/21; but it's really not important.
The point I wanted to make is we shouldn't be loading the Forum up with stickies of archived technical information; a purpose rightfully relegated to the appropriate page in our SDC web site.

Excellent Point Brad! There is a PLACE for everything, and the Top of the Tech. Forum Page will get SO cumbersome as to be useless and annoying.

            Good point Rich,

So I guess when we keep getting questions on Overdrive, we should be patient and kindly answer the question so as to encourage our New Studebaker owners to understand how wonderful our cars and members are.

No, Bob; we simply refer them to the reference in the SDC web site "Tech Tips" instead of referring them to forum stickies.

Words to live by! With the SDC tech section and Bob Johnston's site, there is a wealth of information that is underused. Folks have accumulated resources that very few seem to use anymore by the questions I see on the forum and the lack of directing them to these resources.

Exactly! The overdrive system is super simple, and two minutes of internet research will tell you everything you'ld ever want to know about it.

Of course there will always be those questions about when you should or should not pull that handle regardless of what info is easily available. Hearing from other users, always add peace of mind.
