Glad somebody got some good photos; all of mine are closeups of accessories, chrome, upholstery, etc.

The only fake news is the date stamp on whoever's camera... erryone knows that Tucson is usually buried under a couple feet of... sunshine? on December 28th

This is a picture of our Tourmaster, one of our Vietnam Vets and the fat guy cooking and waving is the Treasure and Membership guy know as Bob Miles
The couple with the hats are the President of the chapter and his wife. He brought the green 56 Commander. Now what are all of you doing to promote the Studebaker name and History? We handed out Turning Wheels and copies of our Newsletter the Copper Starlight.

Yes, without photos to prove this event took place, we must classify this as being fake news.
As for the raffle tickets, I am sorry to say that each ticket was purposely numbered with a corresponding Studebaker engine displacement, including 194 and 283 GM engines.

I'm still chowing on a piece of that lemon cheesecake! Was indeed a great day, and it was nice to catch up with some people I haven't seen in awhile

started a topic Beautiful day for a Studebaker Cook Out

Beautiful day for a Studebaker Cook Out

Today with 72 degrees, the Southern Arizona Chapter had a burger, hot dog and chicken cookout Everyone brought a dish to share with desserts, lettuce and tomato, lemon cheesecake, chips, chili, baked beans and more. We also maintained social distance and masks when needed. Everyone there has received a vaccination. We also had entertainment with a singer/saxophonist's at the Fort Lowell park in Tucson.

Here is the most unusual thing that happened. We sold tickets for the 50/50 raffle and two other door prizes. Jim and Audrey Thompson drove their 50 Commander Starlight from Wilcox, around an hour away on I-10 and won the total pot of $136.00. Their winning ticket had the last three numbers of 259. The next two tickets drawn for the door prizes the last three numbers were 304 and 245. That has never happened ever, all Studebaker engine displacements.

We had 35 people attend and 13 Studebakers from a 1937 Dictator Coupe to a 1989 Avanti Convertible, with 2 61 Hawks (one was the blue car the SDM sold on EBAY), a 62 and 63 GT and a few 50's and different sedans.

We all think maybe things will continue to improve and we are coming back after the year everyone has experienced.
