  • Battleborn's in Ely Nv

On my way back from Colorado, I stopped in Ely Nv to see the Railroad Museum and Battleborn restoration & towing. Sam Derbridge was kind enough to allow me to look around at the Studebakers. Both the Stude-clunkers in the bone-yard and the beautifully restored Studebakers in the shops. I was able to take a few pics. However my phone does a poor job, so sorry for the quality. Also, sadly I wasn't able to get shots of the best ones.
Well... maybe this will take me a while. Since I can't upload and will have to figure out a server. Give me a few here...

Since I was unable to drive a Studebaker this weekend, this will have to do for my IDYSD for this year, even though I didn't get to drive any. Actually, I didn't have the nerve to ask.

Okay... I'm not sure how this happened. I was editing the first post and these appeared in the second. Ah well, at least they're here. All trucks in these, There were also a number of cars. Pity I couldn't get pics of the other shop. He had some really beautiful restored cars and trucks in there. One beautifully done, though Valencia orange, Champ as well. NICE truck, that one. Several like the yellow truck above and another 4WD fully restored and very pretty. The truck ahead of the yellow one has a very rusty Diesel in it.
Oh, and I forgot, a fully functional Studebaker cement truck in the shop I didn't get shots of.

Only one photo appears, but thanks for posting. So this yard you speak of, is it a Studebaker-only yard? How many Studes do you estimate he has?

            Ron,
Your missing photos are there, but are showing up as "invalid files." So the format appears to be the issue.
What file extension is your phone using to store your photos? Can you change that extension to .jpg ?
Can you load them from your phone to your PC and save them in the PC as JPEG files?

I suspect that many will remember Sam’s brother Jay who passed away several years ago of cancer. Jay was a graduate of McPherson College and had a collection of trucks including a Studebaker diesel and 4 wheel drive.

There are at least four, possibly six 4WD Studees there. One, at least, is restored. Also, several diesels. One diesel is a Cement truck, one out in the boneyard, and a restored semi in the shop. My Flickr account is up to tricks. I'll try to fix the pics.

You don't need to use a photo-hosting website to share your photos on the General Studebaker board. You can upload here directly from your computer.

Okay, I don't know what's going on. Here is the BBcode I am entering in the "new" pic loading screen:
                    https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...69358141_z.jpg

I have to edit it from this:
                    IMG_0050 by studeclunker, on Flickr

These links have been working before. Is there something about the "new" format I am not working with properly? I hate change... seems it's always a PITA.

No, I can't. The host keeps coming up with an error (usually invalid file). I haven't been able to upload directly for quite a long time. Several "upgrades" back.
