‘‘Twas a beautiful day at our place today, and a few of our Studes are in this shot. I just love this time of year! Incidentally, the ‘50 Land Cruiser there in the driveway will be coming up for sale in the coming days— We just bought a ‘37 Coupe Express (which I have been looking for for many years) and we’ve run out of room. So if you want a nice one...
and I’m very excited to get the CE!

I'm sorry, I just see a little icon, but no picture? Was it supposed to, also show the Coupe Express?

The truck isn’t here yet, but here’s a picture of it anyway.

You're a lucky man! A Coupe Express is on my bucket list. Like you, I would likely have to part with something else to make room.

Looking forward to watching this one progress. As far as the weather, from now until November is the time to live in Michigan. Highs in the 70's down to the 50's with lows 60 - 40's usually. Brilliant!!

          Thanks, Bob

Good show! Do you have any specific plans in mind for the Ex-presso or is it all up in the air at this point?

              Kenney,
That Coupe Express has your name written all over it. Other than off-loading the Landcrusier, will you still hang on to the red pick-up?

Jake— I have been squirreling away parts for this project for some time. I have a ‘49 245 from a Land Cruiser (that some Dude put a 350 chivvy in) with a 3 sp/OD to upgrade it to. I also have a rare Edmunds twin-carb manifold for the 245. However, I’m also thinking about trying to install a ‘79 Buick Regal T-Type Turbo on the 245 instead of the dual carbs. And possibly a T-5 5-speed instead of the OD. With a long shifter handle, no one would be the wiser. So... Stude power for sure, but maybe a few upgrades to make it drivable in modern traffic. Anyone who knows me, knows I build ‘em to DRIVE.

Dick, My wife almost started crying when I suggested selling “Walter”. “That’s our CHRISTMAS truck!” she says. So... not selling it for now, at least...

Congratulations Kenny and Kathy! Do you want to share some of the CE's history? Is that the one from Oregon? I'm looking forward to seeing it when it gets home.

We both own a Walter. The same name, different vehicle, but same benefactor.

Being a relatively new comer to the Studebaker world, I had not heard or seen a Coupe Express until I saw the blue one on the inside cover of the latest Turning Wheels. Love at first sight! Good to see they are still around and in "project" level. Will be very interested in seeing your progress pictures with your new project! I read about 5000 were made from 1937-1939? Anyone know how many are still out there?

Here is a picture of all three years of the Coupe Express. L to R: '37, '38, '39. A member of our chapter (Greater Virginia Chapter) owns all three, and they are all nicely restored.
