  • Hood opener handle picture needed!

Just as written above; I need a picture of the handle that one pull to open the hood. & if there are different ones I'd like one that looks the same as the overdrive handle. & yes: I've been searching on google without result...
    Please..?

    My 62 & 64 Daytona's used a Red metal "T" handle. Much smaller than an O/D handle.

So you want to convert your '55 Sedan to a Inside Hood Release?

Maybe a '51 Hood latch Plate, Cable and Handle would work.

The Handle is not angled 45 degrees like a '55 Heat or Overdrive handle, it's a Chrome "T" Handle.
It won't Match, but might work.

        It's an assembly with cable.

As Brad said, it's an Assembly, there are no "Handles".

Okidoki I'm sorry, so if there's no handle then what's the proper (secret?) name for the thing you pull to open the hood that's attatched to the cable that goes to the lever that releases the hood?
& maby it's a ghost in my head that tries to fool me into believing that some model has a "non handle" with text on black background saying "HOOD"?

Chassis Parts Catalog calls it: "CONTROL, hood lock - includes button tube and wire."

Nox, what vehicle do you want this for? Some years use it and some don't.

I know that not every year uses it & I was silly enough to think a handle-looking thing would be called "handle"!
                          Oh what a shame...

Since my car is starting to look (only look!) a bit expensive under the hood & the original non-handle sticks out now since the front is customized I played with the idea to have the opening from inside, & then in my extremly silly mind I had a picture of something looking like a (non-?)handle for the overdrive.

So for this topic it's over & out now!

Looking at the overdrive "non-handle" it must have confused me...

That would be Why I suggested to you that a '50, '51, '52 Hood Latch Plate with Cable provisions would help you get an inside Hood Release.

Because I know that '53 to '57 or '58, C and K models had outside "Levers" NOT cables, and there is a good possibility that Latch Plate would allow you to convert a '55 to Inside Release, with WHATEVER Cable & Handle you choose, even a Tractor, Lawn Mower; Choke, Throttle or whatever Cable or one from the same Stude. or any Car.
