    No they didn't change and yes they remained black with yellow VC's.

    Did the engine color change (in '62) when the engines went from partial flow filters to full flow? Or were all '62s black with JD yellow valve covers?

    You can always "Set it off" with the correct Pale Yellow Valve Covers and Red/Orange Fan Blades and Oil Cap!

    No not if you choose to return the car to it's original black color, then it would match the original engine color with which it came.

    Maybe this question was asked and answered in the past, but: I'm rebuilding my 62 Hawk GT 289 engine that had no less than three different colors over the years. What is the original paint color? Body color was repainted gold from original Black Velvet. Would matching the engine to body color be a little over the top and weird? Thanks.
