  • Broaderick Crawford would be proud

Can you see Broaderick Crawford star of the hit mid 50's TV show "Highway Patrol" investigating the crimes in this? (he very seldom chased anyone) I don't know why, but looking at this neat, clean very original Black '56 Commander 2dr. that's the first thing that came to mind![^] Can you say COP CAR! This is exactly the type of car he always drove, always a 2dr. Black with black tires usually a Buick Special '55,'56,'57.

This Commander, is one of the most original Studes I've seen in a long time. I think '56's are one of those "love em or hate em" kind of cars. I never liked the front end, but that rear![^] now that was sweet, with those dual pipes in the bumper, even on Champion 6's! left side fake of course.

Nice survivor. The design of the tailight was pretty clean on those. I believe I saw that SASCO still has those housings for sale, somewhere in the 60 dollar range, IIRC.

Rich, I like BOTH ends of this and everything in between![] Sharp car. I'd rather own this than a 56 Hawk.

        Miscreant adrift in
        the BerStuda Triangle!!

        1957 Transtar 1/2ton
        1960 Larkvertible V8
        1958 Provincial wagon
        1953 Commander coupe

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

That's a winner alright! Looks great in black, too. (Add a set of lake pipes and Torque-Thrust D's for maximum effect! )

I love the '56' sedans as well. Beautiful cars! Dad has a '56 Champ two door, but his has actual dual exhaust. [8D]

I guess that it will really fly with that "259 Liters" engine <G>. I can see some individuals making this mistake, but a professional car dealership shouldn't.

The best looking 56 two door I've ever seen was at a Ohio Studebaker meet in 1976 and it had a 55 front clip. NEAT!
