    Does anybody know who sells engine mounts to convert 49 1/2 ton 6cyl to v/8 chev w/auto with stock front end.

    Nobody sells mounts to specifically make this conversion. You can buy universal type mounts that you will have to modify to fit the frame from people like http://www.chassisengineeringinc.com/

    Keep in mind that positioning the engine and trans in the frame and fabricating the mounts is probably the easiest part of a swap. There are more failed swaps (and failed restorations) out there than completed ones. Get some help if you haven't done a couple before, plan it out carefully, develop a budget...before you start cutting.

        I don't think anyone makes those mounts and I do not believe that it would be simple, but could be done. I think that the better way is to put a GM sub frame under the front end of the truck. This way you get the corect engine cradle along with a better ride, disc brakes and power steering. I have owned a couple of Studebaker pickups converted in this manner.
