  • Hawk wheels

I would like to replace the stock wheels and covers on my 62 Hawk with some fancier wheels. Rather than guess work, I wonder if others could post pictures of their cars with aftermarket wheels or wheels from other brands that have helped them dress up their cars. Actually seeing how they look and getting a description and size etc. would probably be of use to many and offer a chance to show off your cars. There was a discussion and pictures of newer Mustang wheels on an Avanti that gave me the idea. If not a picture, even a description, brand size etc would be helpful.

Nice pictures! Exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I'm currently running 215-75 all the way around with spacers on the front to clear the Turner disc calipers. JDP -- what would the width and backspace be on those wheels? Dick -- Where did you get the lazy S centrepiece? As my son would say, 'That's sweeeet!'.

Just so you know 255/60R15s will fit under a Hawk.

N8 might remember, I'm not sure. I was thinking 6 inch, with 4 inch back spacing.( Might be 7 inches wide too)

7" with zero offset will just barely work on a C-K but you will be limited to a 215 or 225. For the widest tires/most fender clearance you really want something like 1/2" to 3/4" offset. Too much more than that and you will need spacers in the front to clear the tie rods.

Love the "modified" parking brake! Of course, with big trucks I have to use a 6x6 or a cinder block.

Now that I'm home from work...

that's my '55 coupe with MoPar cop car wheels on it (look at the rear of the car) and 245/60s - yes, they fit on the front, too, if you really want to do that. Steers a bit hard... I don't know that they would fit a Lark, but the OP asked about a Hawk...

                              Also not a Hawk ...

                              17 x 8 with a 5.02 backspacing, needs at least a 1/4 spacer to fit the
front end on a Studebaker. Dont think they would look good on a Hawk.
Its possible that the AFS version of the Mach 1 Mustang wheel might do
well on a Hawk. Its similar to the ones posted. Boy, I just never
liked Cragars on anything. Shows how rim choice is a VERY personal
issue, and can only be decided by the owner. Good luck!
