    Below are some copies out of the Jan-Feb issue of Motorsport magazine about Al Goertz and his connection with Studebaker. The magazine also has a very complimentary road test of the 56 Golden Hawk

    I forgot to mention that Goertz was also the designer of the original Datsun 240Z

        The Motorsport magazine article consistently uses one of the common misspellings of Loewy's name. Mr. Goertz was one of many young designers that got early training and experience under Bob Bourke. I do not believe that Goertz was a member of Bourke's Studebaker styling group by the 1951-1952 time frame, so I doubt that he had a hand in the '53 Starliner. The styling that Goertz did was excellent and timeless.
