  • 1932 Studebaker Identification

My Father-In-Law is the new owner of a four door 1932 Studebaker Commander. He has recently gotten the car back on the road. Neither of us have any experience with Studebakers and we are trying to identify what version of the Commander this one is. The ID plate is missing. The car has two side mounts with metal covers and lockdowns which fasten both side mount spare wheels/tires into position. These appear to be factory items, and appear to be different than all of the other 32's we've seen. Is it possible that this is a Commander Regal? What other identifiers are present which would tell us for sure? Any advice or information on links to resources would be greatly appreciated.

The ID plate was fastened to the outer side of the frame rail, behind the left front wheel. A photo would make things alot easier.

OH! And it should have a body tag on the engine side of the firewall, passengers's side. Top line of digits will tell exactly what it is.

    1958 Provincial wagon
    1953 Commander coupe
    1957 President two door

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.
