Yesterday I attended the 2008 Vista Rod Run in Vista, California, about 5 miles from my home. In my opinion, one of the best-attended, worst-promoted shows in California
Usually at least 300 cars (I took over 450 photos), and always at least one or two Studes.
The first one I saw was this lovely black Champion, owned by a young lady in her early 20s! We talked for a while about her car and the SDC, and I told her about the local chapter meetings. She loves her car and told me her grandfather, who lives nearby, has three or four more Studes [^]

The car itself was a nicely decked and shaved mild custom with a stock interior and the stock six. I love the way bulletnoses look without the front bumper!
The second Stude at the show was this nice mild '55 two-door wagon. I didn't get to meet the owner, but the car was in great shape with an original interior. My personal jury's still out on painted grilles, but I like the color and the wheels.

In fact, wagons were really in evidence this year, which they never have been before that I can remember. The rarest was a '58 Buick Caballero 4-door hardtop wagon, but there was also a nice '54 Ford Courier sedan delivery and a beautiful '54 Buick Super.
There were some unusual things, too, like a gorgeous 1926 Packard Club Coupe, an awesome Twin-H Power '51 Hudson, and my personal favorite, this beautiful '54 Willys Aero coupe:

If you want to see more, I've uploaded the pix to http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q...un%20Part%201/
